美國奧勒岡州紐波特（Newport）一名天兵駕駛，利用垂直式將小型車停入停車格，與其他平行的車輛格格不入，顯眼到連路過民眾都忍不住多瞄幾眼。警方雖然也被車主的「神技術」給逗笑，但最後仍依違反規定開單。
奧勒岡州紐波特警方近日在臉書上傳一張照片，寫道「智慧型汽車？在一個平行的停車格，你不能違法的垂直停車。」警方補充，汽車輪胎也沒有和人行道保持12英吋（約為31公分）的距離，已經違反行車規定。
但有民眾認為，機車允許垂直停放，汽車也應該得到同樣待遇。不過，警方指出，汽車若垂直停放可能會造成行人進出不便，而機車卻不會造成阻塞。
